We’d stumbled out of a karaoke bar at 3 a.m. in Soho. It was our final girls’ night before we all went solo. There we were standing in the middle of London, heels in hand, laughing at nothing in particular and making a beeline towards the 24-hour McDonalds. We continued to belt out Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Since U Been Gone’, hitting all the wrong notes, yet this somehow created the perfect outro to the soundtrack of my teenage years.
